Daniel M. Bernick, JD, MBA, is a Principal of The Health Care Group and Health Care Law Associates. He has extensive experience in medical practice valuation and in structuring, planning, and drafting various physician and health care contractual arrangements. Such agreements include medical practice buy-ins and pay-outs, private equity sales, surgicenter partnerships, practice sales, physician employment and independent contractor agreements, mergers and network development, as well as hospital and managed care contracting issues. He advises clients on the full range of health care legal issues, including fraud and abuse/anti-kickback, Stark, HIPAA, fee splitting, tax, and other regulatory issues.
Mr. Bernick is a frequent speaker in various national physician forums, including the Medical Group Management Association, American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators, and American College of Rheumatology. He has authored articles for many health care publications, and is co-author of Selling your Medical Practice. Mr. Bernick was awarded his Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and his Masters in Business Administration from the Wharton School. He is admitted to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, and is a member of The American Health Lawyers' Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, and Philadelphia Bar Association.
